Workday

The days are getting warmer in this part of Texas; for our family, this means we are spending more time enjoying God's wonderful creation.  Granted, although the hope of spring is present, we still feel winter's icy fingertips from time to time.

Daniel takes such pride in our yard and is following in the footsteps of his family.  We proudly have a peach, orange, and apple tree in our yard, along with blackberry bushes, strawberry plants, and a few onions.  As with every gardener, we have had enjoyed the wonderful fruits of our labor and battled the elements and "stinkin' critters" (as Christian likes to refer to them).  This year, our quest begins again, to produce delicious, high-quality fruit and enjoy it before the bugs and forest animals do.

This weekend we enjoyed a family workday.  Those two words usually do not go together - enjoy and work.  However, they do for us.  Daniel and I both agree, one of the things we enjoy doing as a couple is working in the yard together.  I think it stems from one of our love languages, which is quality time.  Christian, ever the helper, was in the midst of the various yard projects, delighting in doing "big-boy" work.
