A Texas Tradition
For many people in this neck of the woods, having an annual picture in a sea of bluebonnets is considered tradition. One could not ask for a more picturesque backdrop. This year we participated in this tradition, but with a slight variation.
At a local arboretum we took pictures of Christian with the bluebonnets and, as you can tell, he was truly hamming it up for the camera. On a different occasion, a friend and I loaded up the kids to show them the fields bathed in blue. We must have gone too late because we did not see one bluebonnet! Determined to get the kids’ pictures with flowers, we found a colorful bed and snapped away. The day ended with a trip to the Blue Bell Factory, a yummy scoop of ice cream, and a fun afternoon at a playground.
We may not have enjoyed the tradition involving bluebonnets; however, the Texas tradition of Blue Bell was mighty tasty!
